Ingersoll Rand Recognition Systems Offers New Handheld Barcode Scanners With Biometric HandReaders

(Campbell, CA) – September 7, 2001 – Ingersoll Rand Recognition Systems introduces the new HandPunch 4000-S, a biometric time and attendance terminal with an integrated handheld barcode scanner.

The HandPunch 4000-S has all the features of the popular HandPunch 4000, which ensures accurate attendance records by eliminating the practice of “buddy punching.” The HandPunch 4000-S is available with a CCD or laser scanner.

To clock in and out, an employee simply places a hand in the HandPunch 4000-S, which measures the length, width, thickness and surface area of the hand. The collected data is compared with a template stored in the hand reader’s memory or on the employee’s ID card to verify identity.

Employees then use the handheld scanner to collect data for job costing and labor reporting. Since the scanner eliminates the need to enter information on a keypad, data entry is faster and more accurate.

For more information on where to purchase the HandPunch 4000-S, contact Ingersoll Rand Recognition Systems Sales at 408-341-4100.
